Experience & background
An engineer,
across disciplines.
I'm Thanh Truong. My path into software started with designing physical products—and an enduring interest in how things work.
From physical systems
to software systems.
Before software engineering, I worked in medical device product design, manufacturing, and quality. Tracing failures, weighing risks, and documenting decisions were part of the job.
Today I build full-stack applications and event-driven services in healthcare technology. I own features from the interface through to production—the frontend, the API, the data, the integrations, and the support that follows.
Every system decision in that work is an opportunity to build architectural judgment—understanding which concerns a design inflates, what it trades away, and whether the domain can afford it.
This site brings together the work I can share and the ideas I've taken time to explain. I'm also building AI for the Curious—practical education for software engineers on using AI thoughtfully and building systems you can depend on.

What I bring
Full-stack software engineer with 7+ years building and operating production web applications in healthcare, insurance, and furniture layout design planning. Owns implementation, automated testing, production support, and system design contributions within an event-driven IoT platform integrated with Oracle ERP and Paymetrics. Nine prior years in the medical device industry—product design, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory control—developed the failure analysis, risk mitigation, root-cause investigation, and documented decision-making skills that shape how I design, build, and debug software today.
Technical practice
- Full-stack delivery
- React, Angular, C#, SQL Server, APIs (ASP.NET Core, Node.js), Azure, AWS, and automated tests
- Production reliability
- Unit testing (xUnit, Jest), integration and end-to-end testing, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), failure analysis, recovery paths, observability, and operational follow-through
- Integrations
- Oracle ERP and Paymetrics
- AI
- Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, and OpenClaw
- Engineering judgment
- Design reviews, explicit tradeoffs, decision records, and maintainable interfaces
Experience
